“Make those ones keep their Award wey dey peel…” Davido Throws Shade At AFRIMA

On the 12th of November 2017, Nigerian singer Davido made history by winning two MTV EMAs for two major categories, Best Act Worldwide and Best Act Africa.

The singer on his Instagram stories expressed his excitement on such huge victory which placed him as the only Nigerian if not African to have attained this height in the music industry.

In his short video on Instagram stories, Davido threw shades at AFRIMA with words that go thus;

    “Worldwide o! Ehh! Fuck that shit! Omo make those ones keep their own, that award wey dey peel, Even the one wey i collect since go don peel finish… My name is David, you cannot play me and get away with it… Boom! 2018, come for your head!”

The All African Music Award had taken place on the same day he was awarded by MTV and the categories he was nominated for were won by his contemporary and biggest competition in the industry and Ojuelegba crooner, Wizkid.
